Please, if we are designing your site, consult us before purchasing any templates or software; we may be able to get it for free. We surf the web for freeware or royalty free data all the time.
We make standard web pages. These standard web pages make up most of the web anyway. See our "Portfolio" section for more examples. We will not create any SWish, or e-Commerce sites. We will however, create WordPress (for blogging) which is a type of CMS application. That is the only CMS we provide. The software is free. We will not design Flash sites, even though we do get requests for them. Flash sites are pretty neat when they work on the viewer's computer, but due to the high firewall security on most viewers' computers these days, it is very difficult to view any sort of complex sites. Plus, with Flash sites, the viewers need to have the proper software to run the Flash application. We like the majority of the viewers to enjoy our sites we design and we feel Flash is too restrictive.
We pride ourselves in all of our pages and site content to be accessible to the reader at all times. There is nothing more we hate than a broken a page. Each client is responsible for the working condition and content on their site's external links. So, at least from time-to-time, test your entire site to make sure all of your links are working. We will test to insure all internal links are working within your site before it gets deployed.
We also test our sites with the 5 top web browsers: Windows Internet Explorer 6 (IE6), Mozilla Firefox 3.x, Apple's Safari 3.x, Google's Chrome, and Opera. Note - IE6 is being phased out and Netscape was phased 100% out in February '08, but we always use IE6 for testing and not IE7. The reason is because if IE6 passes our test, then IE7 will too. Plus, many views have not switch over to IE7 yet.
We enjoy working with templates that can be purchased from the internet. Most of the templates are standard, and the ones with Flash usually are packaged with the non-flash version.
If you are interested in the more complex sites mentioned in the above paragraph, you will have to search the web or phone book because we do not have the man-power to create them. We would love to design e-Commerce sites due to the fact that most of the good sites are basic web sites that allow viewers to purchase products from their site. For example, one of my favorites - eBay.com Here is a site with minor Flash but is mainly a basic site that has e-Commerce ability. This site is their business and no telling how much it costs or even the upkeep it needs.
Our main principle is to have two things - 1) exceptional customer service and 2) 100% working web sites. Our next important principle is that we like to keep cost as low as possible. We will give you as many tips, tricks, and options so we can save all of us time which will save you money. Our last principle, is that we want to have fun with the site.
Some a major tip for you is to create as much data as you can. It is far cheaper for you to take your own pictures and edit them. You can also create all of the text on a word processor, so that all we have to do is copy & paste.
A major trick is to actually surf the web for ideas on what you want your site to look like. Now, we would never copy another web site, but we can get a feel for what you would like your site to look like.
We have many more ideas to save you money by saving us time. "Help me, help you."
We register domain names, design, and host web sites.
Domain name registrations - Flat fee of $11.00 a year. That is at cost. You have full rights to your domain name; it's your name!
Designing web sites - How much it costs is determined upon what you would like designed. How many pages do you want us to create? How much data you want on each page? How much pre-edited data (text and pictures) will you give us? How much unedited data will you give us to edit? How much maintenance do you need on a weekly/monthly basis? (Meaning how often do you request updates for your site.)
Using FrizzIndex.com as an example, it took approximately 80+ hours to create, design, edit, code, proof, and deploy. The approximate cost for a site like this one - $900.oo. Now, you must take into consideration that many of the hours was spent by us creating all the data (text, pictures, header logo) not to mention the fact that we have approximately 18+ pages.
Hosting - Prices are a flat rate of $35.00 a year ($2.92 per month) for 1-5 pages, $50.00 per year ($4.17 per month) for 6-12 pages, and $75.00 per year ($6.25 per month) for 12 pages and up, no matter how large your site may be. We only do yearly hosting.
We do this as a hobby but with exceptional customer service. We only will have a limited customer-base due to the fact we do not want to get too big. Remember, this is a hobby and not a business, so future customers may get turned away due to their specifications of the site. We have not reached that point, but to uphold our customer service, we can only get so big.
